In the run-up to Cayden's departure this coming Sunday, the mommies on SMH Feb/Mar05 thread organised a gathering at Botanic Gardens last Saturady at Symphony Lake.
Matthew and Jo refused to nap, so we bundled them out at 3pm. We made our way to King Albert's Park for Mac to fill up our almost empty stomaches. Matthew finished the whole cup of milo (mixed with water), which was A LOT. Jo was happy to "munch" on her teething rusk.

Then we made our way to BG. We found a cosy spot and set up our picnic area. There were two ladies nearby and they were quite "fascinated" by Matthew and kept wanting to take photos of Matthew. Of course, Matthew kept running away and hiding, kind of shy. Eventually he warmed up and played ball with them. I was feeding Jo her porridge, so didn't manage to capture much photos.
After finishing her porridge, Jo decided that she wanted to have some fun too...
Everybody brought some homecooked food for dinner. Auntie LM brought fried rice, Auntie Elaine roasted 2 chickens (cantonese style - I must learn from her), Auntie Evon brought drinks. I made some salad. Auntie Jamie just needed to bring Cayden and lanterns for the kids.
While we had dinner, we left Emma (Auntie Evon's little gal) and Jo to interact. Jo "terrorised" Emma by grabbing her shirt and coming close to her. Emma was a little subdued that evening, perhaps from all the crying in the car on her way to BG (according to Auntie Evon). Jo got even more adventurous and tried to crawl over to Auntie Evon to grab her plate of rice. :p
After dinner, it was lantern time. Auntie LM helped each kid to light up the lanterns. Matthew refused to hold his lantern because he associated fire with danger and hot. Nonetheless he had fun running alongside the other kids. Jo had fun too, kept staring at Emma jie jie's Barney lantern, which was playing some Chi-na music.

Both Matthew and Jo were so tired out that they slept in the car. Matthew didn't even wake up till 9am the next day. He was simply exhausted.
Farewell Cayden. We are all going to miss you and your mommy. Have fun over in USA.
