We had fine weather last Saturday morning, so we trooped down to Hay Dairies Goat Farm at Lim Chu Kang. We set off at 9am, only reaching there at 930am. The place was quite "ulu" and the drive from PIE was almost never ending. It was actually nearer to Sungei Kadut / Kranji than Lim Chu Kang. We actually passed by Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserves. This would be our next dry weather destination, but looking at the weather these days, I don't think we would be going there in the next two months.
Both Matthew and Joanne were quite excited seeing the goats. Mike explained to Matthew the milking process and we watched the goats being milked by the machines, which actually reminded me a lot of my own pumping experience... heee...
After that, we went off to Barn 2 and fed the goats. There were big goats, old goats, small goats, young goats, so many! Jo wanted to touch them, of course, I said no, because she has the habit of putting her hands into her mouth. Matthew had a great time, walking around, feeding the goats, asking lots of questions...
Here's a photo of him "inspecting" the goats!
After a bottle of cold goat milk and 2 packets of Alfafa hay, it was time to go, because Jo was getting cranky and wanted her nap in her car. We made our way out and Jo fell asleep. We popped by at the nearby Firefly Health Farm and I bought some chye sim, sweet potatoes, a small papaya. Matthew had farm running around the market.
We brought both kids to see Dr Ong after that, as they caught my cold bug, having runny noses. Matthew is now 14kg and Joanne is 9kg (but short at only 69.5cm, head is BIG at 46cm).
