Since young, both my kids seldom wear diapers at my mom's place. My mom and mother-in-law will diligently bring the kids to the toilet to pee. Matthew has been the easy one to train. He could tell us at very young age that he wanted to poo or pee. In fact, when I went to look through the old blog archive, I had logged that he was toilet trained at 18months.
Now with Jo, it was not easy, in the sense that she simply refused to co-operate and won't tell us when she wanted to pee or poo. Only a few months back, she started to tell us when she wants to pee by going to the potty and trying to take off her shorts. Even when we were out, there were a few times, she kept pointing to her diaper and wanted to take it off. Asked her if she wanted to pee, she nodded her head and held on all the way to the toilet! Last week at Safra Mt Faber pool, she came out of the pool and walked to the shower area and pointed down. She wanted to pee! :)
However she still refused to poo into the potty, so most of the times she poo in her shorts (yucks!) or diapers. She hates the cleaning up, so I have been talking to her to tell us when she poos, so cleaning up is easier.
This week, she started to tell us when she wants to poo, either by pointing to the potty or telling us "eerrhhhmmm" very loudly! Just today, she said "eerrhhmmm" so loudly! I asked her if she wanted to poo, she nodded her head! I put her on the potty and with a little urging, she poo into the potty! I was so proud of her, but she was a little upset, I think it was because it hurted a little when she poo.
Well done Joanne!
