Hong Kong - Day 3 Part 2

Ocean Park. We took the "wrong" bus and ended up at the exit. As we went through the park, it was not a bad idea to start from the end, there was less crowd. :) 1st stop was the loo, which was next to the Bird Paradise. With the bird flu news flying around, we decided to just make a quick stop at the flamingo pond, skipping the bird sanctuary.

Then we took the world's longest outdoor escalator...

passing through AdventureLand (where Matthew actually wanted to sit in the Mine Train, which we said no)... to reach the highest point where Marine Land is located.

The Ferris Wheel in the Headland Rides was not in operation that day and I was quite disappeared, as i thought the kids would love it up there. At the Marine Land, we popped in at Pacific Pier to look at the black seals and sealions.

Then the kids had fun taking photos with the statues...

>> Doesn't Jo look like she's waving like the sealion... and I love this photo of Matthew with the sealion. :)

We went for a ride in the Ocean Park Tower (which is similar to our Tiger (originally named Carlsberg) Tower at Sentosa) and had an aerial view around the area and came down just in time to watch dolphins and sealions perform in "Sea Dreams" at the Ocean Theatre.

>> The dolphins came jumping high to welcome the visitors, then the show, finally their tails waving goodbyes...

The kids had fun watching the show. We kept Jo occupied with sweets and raisins and biscuits.. :p The Atoll Reef was CROWDED and we went through all the levels and Matthew was amazed by the aquarium. Jo had fun, hanging on the bars, trying to propel herself upwards on my knees to see the fish. With the crowd and the running kids, no photos...

Lunch was some roast chicken and baked rice from a food stall just outside Atoll Reef. Matthew insisted Papa feed him and Joanne refused to share her fries...

Then the most exciting part of the Park - CABLE CAR! The kids were so amused and amazed to be in the cable car!

After the cable car, we went to look at the 4 pandas and they exhibited photos from Sichuan Earthquake, showing the panda enclosures. There was a panda who died during the Earthquake. I told Matthew about it and he asked so many questions... We couldn't do much after the panda enclosure as it started to rain quite heavily. It was getting late as well, so we had to go. We headed to the bus queue and waiting in the rain under our umbrellas. Thank goodness, the kids were quite cooperative. We decided to head back to the hotel, then think about dinner after we washed up from all the fun. On the way in the bus, Jo fell asleep...

Part 3 next.. find out what fun we had after...
