Mike had wanted to do this movie outing for a while. Finally a Sunday there was no music lessons. The chosen movie - Monsters vs Aliens by Dreamworks. The kids woke up bright and sunny at 7am and allowed their parents to live in till 730am, while they went to the living room and play on their own.
We parked at our favourite "Park-for-Free-on-Sunday" carpark at Stamford Road / Armenia Street, where the old National Library used to stand. The intention was to walk over to City Hall MRT station and take the train to Bugis MRT station which is just 1 stop away. Seeing the weather was good and it was still early, we decided to take our time and enjoy a walk to Iluma. Along the way, we went past some churches and I think Jo was "captivated" by the sights from the way she was looking around sitting in her stroller.
The show was at 1050am and we reached the shopping mall early, so we spent our time roaming around the place. The kids had some fun walking and running around. We finally went into the cinema. To be honest, I wasn't sure how long Jo would be able to sit and watch the movie. She surprised me, sitting, shifting between Mike and me, watching the movie. It was only after an hour when she started to get restless and we kept her "occupied" with sweets and raisins. Then she started to walk around. Luckily, there weren't much people around and she wasn't making much noise.
When the movie finally ended, we made our way to Bugis junction, wanting to have lunch at the foodcourt. It was a long time since we were there, we didn't know that the foodcourt was shifted to the 3rd level. We ended up eating at Crystal Jade Xiao Long Bao. Jo enjoyed the la mian. Matthew needed lots of persuasion and threats before he ate. Even then, he insisted Papa fed him.
Damage for the movie outing = tickets (9.50x3 =28.50) + lunch (34) = SGD62.50. Conclusion, it's very expensive for a outing at the movies..... let's wait for the DVD or VCD release in future. Definitely much cheaper!
