I love to watch my kids together. It gives me intense joy and happiness to watch them interact with each other. Joanne is too young to really know how to interact, but there is this special affinity between the both of them. Like they say, blood is thicker than water. When one cries, the other cries as well. When one laughs, the other senses it and laughs. It's so so difficult to pin point actually what it is... it's like ESP. There's something there, a bond that exists from the very first time they met.
Matthew and Jo are really two different kids. As a baby, Matthew was very much easy to care for, settled into a routine much earlier, quicker and easier. He was already sleeping through the night by five weeks. He was more willing to play on his own, giving me time to do things. He was what many of my SMH girlfriends called "a textbook baby". Joanne is more unpredictable. She likes human-to-human contact, loves to be cuddled. She would play on her own for a while and wants attention after a while. It was only these past two weeks that she settled into a routine.
Time flies. The past three months were gone in a flash.
