Feeding Giraffes

We promised our boy last night that we would bring him to the zoo if he was a good boy. We woke up to a raining day. So sad. Matthew kept coming to us, telling us that he was a good boy and he could go to the zoo. After lunch, we got the kids bathed and packed them into the car, with no destination in mind. We ended up at the zoo! The weather was cool but humid, as the sun was out after the rain. We were in time for giraffe feeding.

Mike and Matthew had a go at feeding the giraffes first while I took some quick shots. The Zookeeper then took over the camera while Jo and I fed the giraffes. Jo wasn't scared at all! In one shot, she almost had her whole hand "eaten" up! :p The giraffe's tongue is long and rough and their saliva is very very sticky!



The Zookeeper kept trying to catch a good family shot, but Matthew was always blocked by the giraffe.
