We made the decision and switched Jo to full day child-care starting next Monday. Rationale behind it was it is easier for us to send Jo to child-care in the morning, rather than for my mom to send her in the afternoon, after spending half day at por por's house.
As I have mentioned in my previous blog post, Jo cried and clinged to me when I asked if she wanted to go to school. This morning at por por's house, she clinged to por por and refused to go for car ride which she loves so much and cried everytime the word school was mentioned.
I called Teacher Ann and she agreed to take her in on Monday for full day because Jo is already familiar with the place. She assured me that Jo will be ok. Jo has a fav teacher and knows what she wants. She also knows to tell teacher if she wants to go toilet. She's generally quite happy in school and will laugh and play with other kids. She also has her water bottle with her most of the times because that's the only familiar item she has with her in school.
Teacher Ann also said that it might be easier for her to adapt on a full day or a half day morning child-care. There's really nothing for Jo to do in the afternoon. When she goes at 1230pm, everybody is getting ready to nap. After nap and tea, some playtime and some of her friends start going home about 4pm. That's why she gets upset. Everybody is going home but not her. In the morning, there are lots more activities, like water play, sand play etc. She will have more fun and will start to enjoy school. Give her 2-3 weeks, she said.
Wish us good luck and hope everything turns out fine. I really want Jo to love school, not hate.
*sob sob* heartpain... :(
