Prawning

We have been going to the zoo many times in the past weeks. We also went to catch the fireworks on the NDP preview day and yesterday. Today, we decided to do something different - Prawning. We have walked past this prawning pond at East Coast Park a few times. This area used to be the Singapore Tennis Centre. Now it has been transformed to Futsal courts and prawning pond.

The kids woke up early as usual. They kept themselves entertained, got their tetra-paks milo / milk from the store-room, while Mike and I continued sleeping! We had a late breakfast of mantou and decided to head out for East Coast Park. We made a detour to Clementi Road for some pratas.

The weather was wet, with intermittent showers. We hid under the big umbrella, but after a while, the kids did not care about the rain at all. We saw prawns being fished out; they were all excited and couldn't wait to do the same.

The kids had fun, watching out for prawns hooking on. Matthew spotted quite a few. Joanne kept herself entertained using her toy phone to take photos of us and the catch and "chit-chatting" on the phone. After a while, she got bored, Mike went to get some Macdonald's and brought her along. After 2.5hrs, we packed up...

We brought the prawns over to Por Por's house. We had prawns in tangkwei soup for dinner! YUMMY! The prawns were big, juicy and fresh!
